How to Extend Disk partition in Windows 7

Windows 7 allows you to resize the hard disk partition on your computer using its built-in Disk Management utility. You can either shrink or extend a partition. Administrator privilege is required on the computer where you want to resize the hard disk partition. Follow the given steps to extend disk partition in windows 7.

Step1: Go to the “Start" menu and select "Control Panel".

Step3: Then double-click the "Computer Management" icon.

Step4:  Click "Disk Management" below Storage on the left pane of the Computer Management window.

Step5: Right-click the disk partition that you want to add to another partition and select "Delete Volume." For example, if you want to add D: drive to E: drive, right-click the D: drive and click "Delete Volume".

Step6: Right-click the hard disk partition that you want to extend. This will be below Volume on the right pane of Computer Management window. Click "Extend Volume".

Step7: Click "Next" on the welcome screen of the Extend Volume Wizard dialog box that opens.

Step8: Select the disk partition that you want to add to another partition, click "Add" and then click "Next".

Step9: Click the "Finish" button. This will extend the selected volume.
